Nope. Not necessary.
If you talked to him prior to it, that's cool. Your post didn't mention it, so it looked like you were just throwing your hat (mini?) into the ring.

Okay a few things to say. There aren't as many painters signed up as I would like and two more just started to ask about models so I'm going to delay the shipping day until Monday. And just so you know painters now may take up to four models. Here are the models that are left to chose from,

Okay I'm having some trouble right now with some behind the scenes stuff and due to that and the fact that I will be out of town Monday and get back late Tuesday the shipping will be postponed again. Probably Tuesday night I will send out the info. I'm very sorry for the delay. Just so you'll know I work construction and we currently have a job about 2 and a half hours away. So I'm usually will go down and spend the night work the next day and drive home that evening. So I'm out of town very irregularly. I really hope to get this off soon and I'm excited to see the out come. Some of the models will be amazing.

Thanks for understanding. The crew I'm on is almost done thins house and then we have two more lined up much closes to home. I'm grateful for anything right now.

Anyway the info should go out this evening as the problem has been solved. So owners should be able to ship out their models tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to getting this started.

I have run into a small problem.

I can't figure out how to ship a single model safely withough spending a bunch of money. i don't want to use a bubble mailer. so am i stuck spending a few bucks on a small box?

most single models are going to cost you at lease 2-4 dollars to ship because of the wieght even if you ship in a bubble envelope (which I would suggest you not doing as I have had them rip in the mail and end up with the top of the bubble envoplope and a letter saying sorry from the PO).



This is a contest where you are paying 5 bucks + shipping (maybe another 4 bucks depending on the model) and can potentially get a 25-60 dollar paintjob depending on who gets it.


the first couple of contests were iffy on the paint jobs in my opionion...but there were a couple of decent ones. But I actually expected better results from the winners (if they are who I think they are) because I have seen their top teir stuff....

That said as this thing gets legs I think you'll see a better quality of paint job start to crop up...


But heck even if you get a 15 dollar paint job your still up 5 bucks.

You can try a priority mail box if they make them small enough. Or you can try making your own box if you have some cardboard. Just remember that you can't make it too small or else they wont ship it. What I do for the small single or very few piece models is take a square piece of cardboard slightly larger than the mini in question and tape the mini to it. Then I take a even slightly larger piece of cardboard and bend it and take it over the mini onto the other piece. Then I put this in a padded envelope. This only works for unpainted, models with very few parts. When I ship a model like this I pay about 1.29 a model which is quite reasonable. Painters, please do not send your painted models like this.

And I agree with BM Although I think that all except maybe one or two models all of the ones from the last three contests have been worth at least five dollars. Some of them I could probably sell for 50. But as of now I like them on my display self. So far I still have all the models from the contests. Maybe as a promo for the upcoming fifth contest I'll post a complete archive of all the pics in the information forum. I'll have to talk to the mods though. I'd love to be able to pull some money together and get a ad banner up. But I'd have to find someone to sponsor it or take it from the cash pull. Maybe if this one has a good enough turnout I could bump the entry fee to 7 dollars and have two of those go to the add banner. But it's a hundred for three months I could only pull off two contests in that time at best. Maybe for the tenth if these go that long.

P.S. All the info should be sent out and every one should know where to send their models. If you have not received your info then please pm me. Their will be a week allowed for shipping and then two weeks for the painters to paint their models. Painters if you can please send me the pics of the finished models once you complete them then I may be able to post the finals early. Also if the painters could please confirm when they receive the minis I would appreciate it.
