The sphinx looked cool, nothing else really poped for me.

Not a real fan of the sphinx. OK, but not super. Same with the skeleton riding snakes. Very well done models, but the concept is kind of goofy.
I do have to check out the rest of the preorders tonight. I have high hopes for some of the chariots that are being talked about.

I would have liked to have seen the Sphynx with howdah. I don't like the snakes probably because they don't look organic. I read the fluff about them being statues but that fluff doesn't sit well with me.

Re: Have you seen the new TK?
That almost looks like a howad.
Personally, I like the new guard and glad they didn't change, or change much, the rank-n-file skellies or chariots.
The knights on snakes seem much.
The sphinxes... eh. ok but I'm not sure.
I had a massive TK army, enough chariots to field an all chariot army, 2 giants, 2-3 scorps, 3 blocks off infantry...5k? points.
But I never could get a full game up.
The few players in the area only had enough models to play warbands...TK can easily die in that small of numbers.

I don't like them. The sphinx is okay as a model, by itself outside of the army. The Snakes...I just don't like those. It's weird and just....weird.
I thought: "am I just hating"? But I feel like with the last few releases, GW's armies are getting more and more generic. Wow...look, another huge monster with a howdah on it. Skaven hell thingy, goblin giant spider, sphinxter etc. Maybe that's for another post.
I wonder if they will have a 'hidden assassin zombie'......

Re: Have you seen the new TK?
The Necrosphinx does it for me, but the WarSphinx (the one with the howdah) just missed IMHO. I saw on Dakka though, someone wants to use the Necrosphinx to kit bash a pre-Heresy Thousand Sons Librarian Dread. That would be cool.

I posted this same thought on how 40K is getting more vanilla and got ripped.
Hmm now it's the same for fantasy...go figure.

The possibilities for Thousand sons conversions are mind boggling.

Re: Have you seen the new TK?
@Kutrock....there is a big difference between being a fan of a game and being a fan-boy. I'm here, I like Warhammer; I'm a 'fan'. But I don't think that means we have to swallow wholesale the changes that GW is making in the game and 'love it' no matter what...that's fanboy.
I think the guys that are ripping you for making an accurate observation (well, I didn't read it so I don't know about tone, but...) are total fanboys.
It's obvious that GW is moving toward a generic system where you can pretty much pick up any army and the play-style is going to be very similar to all the others. It's good for sales of models. I think GW is becoming more of a 'model' company and less of a 'game' company, and that is just my opinion. Frankly, I wish I had 6th edition army books and rules across the board, and I would be happy playing with those for the rest of my life. Inbalances and all, it was a fun game! The quirks made it cool.

Re: Have you seen the new TK?
I like those ambushing snakes with the halberds. The version with tomb guard using them as surf boards is stupid. I think the Necrosphinx is cool, but a little TOO gaudy and over wrought. Like the sculptor just kept adding junk for the sake of adding. I don't know about the Warsphinx. I need to see more pictures. It kind of looks like it's got neck problems, but I'm not sure exactly what's souring me on it. The tomb guard are great.
I was hoping to see plastic Ushabti in the first wave. I hope GW just makes them plastic and keeps with the current designs. They don't need updating.
