i was just told from someone that wanted to trade with me that seemed frustrated that GW sold a orc boys box set for $35 for 20 figures?
and that they recently changed it to 10 boys..
can anyone please direct me to this item if they know where it is online because in that case i would like to buy more since i was told they are still around..
the most i ever saw was 16 in a box and even then, that box set hasn't been sold for a couple years now. i think 2006?
Not trying to target or pinpoint someones frustration but if this is true i want to know where i can get this item because i would keep my orcs and get more of those sets.
Thanks,
orc figure boxes

Re: orc figure boxes
Thread moved to WHF ddiscussion. : )
On topic - Last year, before Christmas, I helped a friend of min buy her boyfriend's son a box of Boys. IIRC, there were 19 in the box. I remember thinking it was strange that it wasn't 20... and it was an unopened box.
Bought them here on BTown. I am pretty sure I got them from ChaosOrc.

Re: orc figure boxes
Orcs boyz have been sold in boxes of 16, 19, and 10, in that chronological order. In late 5th edition, the Orc Boyz Regiment box came out. It was 4 sprues of 4 boyz, with a metal blister of command bits and enough shield sprues for all 16 boyz.
Later, when 6th edition was released it came with Empire and Orcs, and the Orc army included a "command sprue" which could make either a mounted hero and a foot musician and standard bearer, or all 3 of the above on foot if you didn't want the hero to be mounted.
So when the 6th edition Orc army book was released, an updated version came out. It had the same 4 sprues of 4 boyz as before, but they replaced the metal command blister with the plastic Orc command sprue from the then current Warhammer boxed game. Thus you got a box of 19 plastic boyz (with an odd set of spare legs that had been for the hero in the boxed set to ride his boar).
I personally was annoyed when those boxes reached the $35 price, let alone when they cut them in size and made them $25. When it first came out as 16 boyz, it was only $19.99, and came with a movement tray! I'll let you do the math, but suffice to say, those models have doubled in price, but the initial investment on the manufacturers part for the sculptor, molds, etc is long since paid off. I have not figured out how they fit 10 boyz into the new box using the old sprues. Maybe they ever so slightly tweaked the sprue (resulting in, IMO, needless expenses for them compared to just selling boxes of 11) or maybe they just break up one of the old sprues or give you two command sprues and a regular sprue to reach the total of 10.

Re: orc figure boxes
I might be wrong but wasn't there a box set of black orcs that came 20 to a box for a short time?
