Alcohol instead of soapy water to clean minis

Post by kturock »

I've always used soapy water on metal and resin minis to ensure that all of the chemicals are removed.

I just tried alcohol instead.
It dries faster and I can get straight to painting.

Has anyone else tried it?
Heh, I was called a Grognard. ;-)

I've done both. I have lots of IPA on hand for my 3D printers. The thing to watch out for with IPA is to make sure it's clean. If it's dirty it will leave deposits behind when it evaporates. That and the obvious safety factors of open flames, ventilation, etc.
