Who wants to score it?

Any volunteers.

Thoughts on why or why not do it?

I'd take part, just to keep personal track of my assembled models, but I don't have the time (or "need") to be competetive, and certainly don't have the time to reasonably upkeep such a thread.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

I never really got into it mostly because I don't tend to track what i assemble.

To be fair, I barely tracked what I painted last year too lol. Only 1500 points of T'Au, 1500 points of Blades of Khorne, tons of terrain, a Dimachaeron, an imperial knight, tons of other odds and ends... Yeah... I probably should have posted pictures in the painting thread....

That being said (I trailed off there).

If someone is willing to track and record points, I'm sure people would love to be a part of the building contest even if it's more, like MM says, to track their progress.

What you lack in quantity you make up in quality 3eland! I like your stuff... Do you use an air gun to paint the bigger stuff? It looks like you do that then paint over it...

That is the one thing I never learned how to do was airbrush... Is a shame because it does some great effects on larger models.

These days I will not assemble anything without magnetizing it! Even if it has no options I still want to be able to break it down for transport or storage.

I am working on a forge world Troll Hag and that model is so very top heavy (and to the forward) so I have to use the biggest magnets I can on it and once worse the resin is so not so good on the joins (especially ankles and the bag hand)... Which is a problem with magnets because you can not fill the gaps with green stuff as easily (because it has to come apart)... Model is being a right biatch!

I also didn't attach it directly to the base as it comes with a square cosmetic base... So, I magged it to the scenic portion and the scenic to the oval base... I wanted to be able to face her to the side or to the front (I know it has no rule relevance but I don't like how it looks when she is using one side to contact and not facing it... OCD.

Also magging the model is cool because you get the best of both worlds... You can use it until it is painted and when you need to paint it you can bust it down for no issues getting in the tights spots where pieces meet.

If you're having a problem with the top heaviness, you can always use a pin to help the magnet hold it together.

Side note:
Is there going to be a building contest or not? If so, we need a volunteer to run it.
MAN! If only we had a new(ish) member who had offered to help us in any way possible recently, who might want to show a willingness to take on potentially annoying responsibilities.
; )
LOL
(No pressure heh heh heh)
