It is so stumpy in size and body shape that it is more "cute" than "scary".

Another quick update on the Inquisitorial Knight.

More work on the battle damage and the base is pretty much finished. I need to clean up the skull a bit and add some dirt/dust pigments to it. Once the model is sealed (the finished seal as I seal it many times as I work on it) I will be adding a candy purple and red mix on the blood from the Daemon to give it a very wet, bloody feel/look.

@Spiraling - I know my last answer was very cryptic and non-informative but since I have painted up the shield and the crotch plate I can explain. Like I said earlier, you are totally right in that usually grime would collect near the ridges of the armour, and since the armour was "originally" a white or off white (really we have no clue of knowing) it wouldn't make sense the outside to be dirty while the inside fairly decent colour.

In college, a part of what I learned and had to do was to create ways of faking something to a player (we are talking video game art but the same concept can be applied here). By creating the outer edge brown and the centre white, I can fake the look of dirt, wear, grime, damage, and what have you without having to put a lot of effort into it. With the battle damage and wash/glaze, I can essentially make it look old and worn. It is not perfect of course, but it is easy to do and still shows off the look. So hopefully that explains my thought process.

Any who, pictures! Non booth so sorry for the lighting.

Now that I am back into painting (I had hurt my shoulder pretty bad a few weeks back) I have been getting more done!

This time the battle damage and decals has been finished on the right shin plate, chest plate, side plates and helmet (making the entire armour from the helmet down done minus griming the gold). 1 of the 5 weapons is completely finished (remember this Knight is fully magnetized!).

Work has begun on the shoulder pads and back carapace. Need to balance the decals and damage in a way that sells the look. The rear carapace will be given a glowing look like the eyes/back engine.

The other 4 weapons are about 75% done, should have a completed Knight soon!

Enjoy!

The body of the Knight is complete!

I hit all the gold raised areas and cracks with a green wash to represent aging. I also finished the damage of the top carapace as well as hit the top engine section with some OSL effects. Funnily enough the camera makes it appear like it is glowing. I went with blue because although I had a very specific scheme, the blue set it apart and added so much more.

The weapons are being sealed before the final check over/ detailing. I will throw up some light-box pictures once it is complete and done up!

Enjoy!

So tons of pictures so go make yourself a tea while it all loads!

The Inquisitorial knight is done! I went over a few things again just to tidy it up and I think the end result is awesome. The OSL from the engines, the Chainsword and the Melta gun really adds something I think to the paint scheme.

Overall I am happy! Now time to finish that Stompa!

Damn you. Damn you so much!
Your blue OSL bits look like they are LED lit.

I hate you!

Thanks!

But who says they aren't actual small nuclear engine cores?

LOL

Nah, one thing I wanted to push is the OSL. I struggled a bit with it on some practice test pieces but once I was able to perfect it I found it really popped. I was hoping it wouldn't be too much but I think it adds just the right amount of breakage that it fits well.

It's the white that does it though. When I had just the dark blue and bright blue it just didn't scream nuclear engine enough for me. When the white was added wow. You can see the difference actually between the back smaller engine part here:

VS here:

The proper lighting helps too though.

Glad you like it!

Here are some WiP pics of my newest project.

The Glottkin!

Such a nasty yet beautiful model. Currently I have the skin tones worked out and will begin detailing once I clean up the skin some in places. I should have some more pictures to show later tonight or tomorrow!

Enjoy!

You and that airbrush...

Well, at least it's cool to see all those WIPS to get a sense of its limitations, even if I don't really get it yet
