Dreadball alpha simian size

Hey B-towners,
I'm wondering how the dball alpha simian compares in size to the tau riptide broadsides. I'm working on a conversion for my tau army and need a big ape. $16 for a big ape vs $80 for a riptide works much better in my budget but things are tight and I don't want to order one until I know.
