Mini Cases that work

So, a few weeks ago I was involved in a pretty gnarly car accident. We were bounced of the road and the care rolled several times.

We were on our way back from a gaming event and had our minis in the back of the vehicle (Suzuki Grand Vitara). Here is how the cases/figs held up.

Portable Warfare/Blu Foam: Filled with mercs, no damage what so ever.
Portable Warfare/Battlefoam: Filled with trolls, parts came off of some of the heavier models, but models in great shape considering the accident.
Pistol Case/Egg crate foam: Filled with circle. Models mangled to hell. Best descriptor would be :(
Battlefoam Warmachine Bag/Battlefoam: Filled with mercs. Some damage to the Steelheads and Nyss. Everything else looked good.
Cardboard Box/No foam: Filled with Cygnar. Everything tossed and destroyed except for a lone long gunner and a ATGM UA.

It looks like the items that broke in the battlefoam were only those irregularly shaped models that have some play in their cut outs. Pistol Cases aren't great and cardboard boxes are a waste of time.

On one hand, thank you for posting the comparison.
On the other hand... I'm sorry you had to go through what you did in order to see the results.

Glad you made it through okay.

Sounds like a MythBusters episode.

Thanks for both performing this experiment and posting your findings.

Of course, repeatability is the true test, so I await your follow-up.

Car accidents when minis are there doubly suck. That said my Battlefoam Privater Press bag with plug foam was in an accident where the car rolled and all I had was a couple arms come unglued.

Wow. That sucks. Must've hurt!
What happened to the miniatures?

I better put the tackle boxes full of minis in the back of the car.
Insurance is the closest to retail I could hope to get! (here's the proof they were in the car right here, and here, and over there)
Just hope the car gets rear ended in a parking lot while I am not in it.

I was in a head on once (and after could change the plugs from the front seat)
I always wear a seat belt. So does my tackle box.
