Aaaaarrrgggghhhhh. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Right after I sell my orks the new box set drops and I'm absolutely in love with how the warboss looks.
I've been playing for 20 years, nothing I've ever bought (regardless of the material it was made of) has looked even 1/2 as good as the models in this box.
Oh well. Painting and modeling is hobby right? I don't have to ever play.

If we're trading: Lower ships first, even if its me.
If I'm buying: If you have a REASONABLE (>20) rating with no negatives, I'm paying first.
If I'm selling: You're paying first.
I always check Ebay before making/accepting offers. You should to. Fair market value >>>> "I feel they are worth X"
Offers good for 24hrs.
Well, well, well. If it isn't the consequences of my own actions.

2 things:
1) only Krom and Grukk are new
2) never sell your army.

1. Fair point. I was lusting after the warboss and didn't even notice that they were reissues. Are the nobs monopose?
2. No one to play with. :/

The nobs are nobs box nobs.
And there's no one in all of Lexington to play with?

Re: Aaaaarrrgggghhhhh. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Not really when you're 36. I've tried playing at the local game shops, the GW one basically only runs leagues where you have to buy your stuff from them to play in "No entry fee...right". And pretty much everywhere else is warmahordes.
I suppose I could go out and make new friends but to be honest with you it seems like a lot of hassle just to justify playing a game.
Definitely not trying to do the "poor poor pitiful me" thing. There's multiple reasons to move on from the hobby, my game group not really having time for it anymore is just a really convenient one. Plus it gives me more time for the wife, classes and the Cello.
But they did do an amazing amazing job on the new warboss.

Re: Aaaaarrrgggghhhhh. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
The local GW store isn't that bad, here. Yet. The manager is kool, but doesn't like talking about Ebay or Bartertown, or even the local LGS. But he doesn't kick you if yo don't buy from him. He doesn't expect you to buy everything there to play, but does like you to buy at least something; to keep the doors open.
The new employee frequents here and ebay. But, he doesn't buy much online anymore, since he gets an employee discount. I think he was the biggest buyer there yesterday.

Don't stress it. The new codex isn't that great.Doctari wrote:Right after I sell my orks the new box set drops and I'm absolutely in love with how the warboss looks.

It MIGHT be competitive with CSM.

Lower rating? You ship first.
Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.
To get some humor out of life and pass it on to other folk.
I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Well I admit that I'm theoryhammering it right now, having only looked over the barest details.
So much nerfing, though... on a codex that was already weak in 7e.

The thing is that Nerfing is like whack a mole. As soon as you whack one thing, another pops up. Bikes, Trukk boys and assault all got a boost.MagickalMemories wrote:Well I admit that I'm theoryhammering it right now, having only looked over the barest details.

Yeah I read it. I wasn't very impressed.
I'm not real thrilled about how everything seems to be going to huge robots.

Re: Aaaaarrrgggghhhhh. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
How did bikes get a boost, with the loss of their auto-cover save? (Please, don't mention the T thing. That was a rules change, not a codex change.)
...and boosting assault in a game geared to punish assault armies doesn't impress me, honestly.

25 Points before with a 4+ constant.
Vs
17 Points with a 4+ on demand and a 3+ when turbo-boosting. The loss? half accuracy for 4+, no shooting for 3+. I'll take it for an 8 point drop.

Re: Aaaaarrrgggghhhhh. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
The points drop is significant. No taking away from that.
Forgive me... As I said, I haven't had time to STUDY the book, so many details are lost when "off the top of my head."
What do you men by "4+ constant." I don't do a lot of online discussion for 40K so, if that ("constant") is an online term (like 4++ or 4+++, etc), it's lost on me.
Are you just referring to the armor save, or...?
That said, making bikes less tough in my group (loss of the constant cover save) makes them A LOT weaker in my group, regardless of points. The only bikes that ever held up in my group were Nob bikers. Regular bikes died in droves. Even when they managed to get the PK into HtH, it rarely ever did much. Usually, it was overwhelmed before it got to strike and, when it DID work, it rarely did anything significant.
Now, granted, the new nature of formations/datasheets/whatever changes things and might make a difference if there's a good one for them. I'm still just not seeing it yet.
Mind you, I admit that most of this is me being skeptical based on what I've seen so far and comparing their new specs to how they functioned in the past. I admit I could be wrong (and I hope so... I LOVE my Ork army). I'm just not seeing it at this point, though.
