Grrr. Bad trade on another site.

Just frustrated about this. I bought something from someone on anther site. Sent the money as soon as thy gave me the Paypal email. Was supposed to ship priority mail last week. Have had a runaround since. Finally today the other guy says he can't give the tracking number because his wife threw the receipt away. Then he implies that I'm being dishonest but says he will issue a refund anyway. Man that pissed me off (not the refund, but the implication).
So everyone, if you are trading or selling, keep your bleeping delivery confirmation numbers. If you don't, don't blame the guy that was trusting enough to send you the payment.

I keep the receipt till the trade/sale is over. By over I mean I got feedback one way or the other. Tack them all to the basement ceiling so that cat dosent get them.

Agree 100% Jason. It is just plain unwise to not keep your tracking numbers.

I still have the tracking numbers from every trade I have conducted here.

I thought I was the only one crazy enough to do that! My spreadsheet is getting large...

I keep mine until references have been left. Otherwise I would need an entire filing cabinet I fear..

Yea, somehow I think you'd get an episode of "Hoarders" devoted to you, Jim.

Look at his ref score. I think he probably will, anyway. LOL
My intention is to keep them until the refs are left, but they usually end up sitting on my work bench a good couple months longer. LOL

BTW, Imaginos, which site? Just out of curiosity.

I would not even bother asking, "what other site," because it really does not matter. Jerks are jerks no matter where they reveal themselves; cannot blame the site for the actions of jerk members. If you want to take exception or rant on about the lack of more effective and accountable trade rules or enforcement on that site, THAT would be a different post, and I would be right along side you.
I've had trade/sales/dealing here, eBay and on TMP, but have only had busted deals where I was, "put out," right here.
Is Bartertown at fault or should I think less of the site? No friggin way - it's still the first go-to stop when I think I might need something... with few exceptions, this is a great community despite the only "trade issues" I've ever had having been here.

Mardaddy, it DOES matter. Not for any of the reasons you put forth, however.
It only matters (for me, at least), because I was curious.
You see, I'm a Leo. Leo... the lion. Lions are cats. Do you remember the saying about curiosity and the cat? Yeah. That's me. LOL
So, rest assured that I wasn't asking so that I could, in any way, make it about the site where the trade occured. I agree with you whole-heartedly about jerks being jerks and trade rules making the difference. It was solely for the reasons given.
That said, I do appreciate that you make BT your first stop for shopping. Staff tries hard to make the place hospitable. : )

I have heard that MM story time makes this place the most hospitable...

Nah. It's the milk & cookies I serve DURING story time. The actual story is strictly secondary.
