Your first half is semi-correct. basically, if you don't want it left here, don't post it. LOL We delete spam and ads in the wrong trade forums. If you post a discussion to the wrong forum, we move it. If it's obscene, we remove or edit it, depending on the circumstances.
Threads in the discussion forums don't auto-prune. They're here to stay.

May I ask why you posted the thread in the first place, if you were just going to ask to have it deleted?

I am an instructor. One of the classes I instruct is a beginning computer class and we were talking about forums. Thus, the post to demonstrate how it works.
