B'Town Residents,
Spring is almost here and that means Nashcon, HMGS-MidSouth's flagship gaming convention, is just around the corner. Dates for this year’s show are May 25th thru the 27th (Memorial Day weekend) and once again the Franklin-Cool Springs Marriott, just minutes south of Nashville on I-65, will be the host hotel.
We’ve got games scheduled for many different periods and genres including Medieval, WW I, French & Indian War, Peninsular War, American Civil War, “A Call to Arms: Starfleet” demo games, Sci-Fi Armored combat, demo games for ATKM’s Horse & Musket era rules and a giant Colonial Naval battle that will cover HALF the tables in the game room. And that’s just some of the game submissions we’ve received, so far!
We also have several tournaments scheduled, including Warhammer and WH40K, Flames of War, DBA, ASL and Magic the Gathering! As before, the FoW tournament is officially sanctioned and this year we were lucky enough to get both the Warhammer and WH40K tournaments on the official GW tournament circuit. We’re also excited to have a tournament for the new “A Call to Arms: Starfleet” game system.
Admission to the show is $30.00 ($25.00 for HMGS members) which includes access to all open gaming, participation in any of the tournaments and access to the dealer’s area and the flea market. Participants who pre-register will receive an additional $5.00 off the price. And to sweeten the deal, the Marriott has a special convention rate of $115.00 per night (reservations must be made through the hotel reservation desk to get this) that includes two free breakfast buffets in the hotel restaurant for each room night booked.
So come on out and join us for a fun-filled weekend of gaming, shopping, flea marketing and socializing! And bring the whole family along! The hotel has an indoor pool for the kiddies, Cool Springs Galleria Mall is nearby for your significant other’s shopping pleasure, there’s a ton of tourist attractions just minutes away in either Franklin or Nashville and there are plenty of excellent dining options to choose from! We sincerely hope you’ll be able to make the journey to Nashcon and we’ll see you there!
