Hey, I realized I've never shared this with many people and well, I'm bored.
I'm not much of a sports guy but this story sticks out and is worth telling.
I went back to California last year on vacation to stay with my uncle for a few weeks. Hes my only real father figure and as such this is my "other" home... well, we had decided to go to a Giants baseball game sometime during the time I was there. There were two slots to pick from- one vs Arizona and one vs Colorado. I'm not sure why I had to be asked... I was a Rockies fan, why would I want to go see his team play arizona? hehe
Anyway, so were in pac bell park watching this game. There was a SEA of orange and black, my eyes could not pick out a human body without this theme, well, except for my own silver + purple ballcap.
The game was a boring pitchers duel for the first 8 innnings. No runs through that entire time, and there was rarely even a hit, just strike after strike. Well, in the bottom of the eighth the giants score a run. At this point the sense of victory was in the air among the stadium... but then the top of the ninth came around and some hitter batted in two runs for the Rockies. The giants fielded their top hitter whats his face the panda- who hit a beautiful pop fly... which was caught by the left fielder. Game over, hehe.
The sense of disappointment was freakin' palpable. I've never felt such a powerful sense of anything that strong. It was probably made worse because I was prolly the only one NOT disappointed.
I'm lucky though, I got home and realized that the bay area was my other home and I should just stay a Giants fan. Oh well, hehe.
