NFL speak...

So I am an NFL fan... if you aren't don't reply because I will taunt you until you cry.
I was born and raised in the Michiana area and of course makes me a Lions fan. Seeing them win 4 straight playing some very hard NON LION'S TYPE football really makes me happy.
But I am worried that deep down they are still the same old Lions. they've lost many games this year by 10 or less points which tells me that they just can't do enough to put it away... however, that princess of a QB in Stafford really makes it hard when you take a hit and are put on the IR for the season every friggin year.
Anyway, any predictions for the playoffs? I expect New England (groan) to go deep but Atlanta is on a serious roll right now... like impressive. Then there is the Mike Vick era in Philly which has dwindled a bit the last two games.
Me I like Indy to go the SB for AFC and Atlanta for the NFC. Indy is playing great ball right now with mostly back-ups due to injuries. Their run game have improved greatly recently and has taken pressure off of elder Manning.
Going to be a great playoff series this year.

Detroit did better then I thought they would. I think they should be able to compete with the rest of the North pretty well next year. Chicago lacks a solid offensive line and Green Bay needs a running game. The Vikings well if they go with their WR/QB over T.Jackson they might be able to muster 6 wins.
I live outside of Chicago and will cheer the Bears on but I'm really a Kansas City Chief's fan and am pretty excited they got to the playoffs this year. I don't hold much hope of them beating Baltimore but they usually come back pretty strong after taking a beating. But I won't hold my breath too much. I think they'll contend next year as well.
I think it'll be Pittsburgh vs Atlanta in the Super bowl.

Until Adult Swim is implemented... Here's who I am cheering for in the Super Bowl...
...but with that robot of a QB in New England, I don't see them losing again this year.
Also, I have no problem with a 7-9 team making the playoffs if they won their division, but should they be HOSTING a team that has won 4 more games than they did??? That I have a problem with...

Oaf, the Adult swim HAS been implemented.
Have you joined Bartertown Plus?
Once you're added to the group, it's available to you.
BTW, not a big football fan, but I did watch the Rams "play" tonight and I believe that the team who played like they wanted it the most won the game.

MB, I cheered for your Lions a few times in your honor this year! When you live in Cincy like I do there isn't much else to cheer for.
As for the playoffs I really would like to see the Falcons win it all. Mostly because I hate to see the same teams win year after year. If it happens to be your team then you rejoice at the legacy but if not it's just palin boring. I also notice that fans of those "legacy" teams (I'm looking at you Steelers, Cowboys, Green Bay, etc fans) are typically far more obnoxious than the average NFL fan. For that reason I love to see any of the big power teams get beaten by up and comers.
To be honest I'm secretly rooting for the Seahawks just because they are such huge underdogs but Idoubt they get past the Saints.

I'm hoping for a New England vs. Green Bay superbowl. This would give the Pats a nice revenge game for '97.
My guess is actually NE vs. Atlanta.
New England is rolling everyone right now and not making mistakes. And I want them to win
Atlanta just looks solid on the other side. They lost a close one to NO, but then thrashed the Panthers as they should have the next week. Plus the same ice water that runs through Peyton and Brady seems to have found a home in Ryan(sp?)

That's ALMOST enough to convert me, but not quite. Go Chiefs!! And I'm going to go up to Baltimore to watch the game with my brother-in-law, his father, brothers, etc. Even my sister is stabbing me in the back and cheering for Baltimore. Ought to be fun, I'm taking spare KC shirts that I can (hopefully) pass out when KC wins..............

Given the outcome, I think the answer is yes.
And congrats to the Ravens, beating up on the Chiefs.....................

If they beat the Bears and the Packers win, they get to host the NFC Conference final too... That is too good...

P.S. The Ravens/Chiefs game looked like veterans beating up on rookies, which in truth, it really was.

@ oaflord - With that photo, I think I might root for Baltimore even more than I planned.
@ MB - Your Lions look like an up and coming team to me. I wouldn't be too surprised to see them in a playoff position next year.
@ Medevl - You know the best way to take the same teams out of the playoffs every year. Beat 'em.
Although, I too, am rooting for the Seahawks in the NFC. It would be funny to have a team in the Super Bowl who had JUST broken above .500 in the NFC Championship game...
I still think it's going to be a tall order to beat Brady/Belichick and their group of no-names up in New England.

Visit
www.thesmokingjacket.com and search for "nfl edmondson". She gave the same treatment to a bunch of other teams. Sorry Don, no Chiefs...
While you are there feel free to vote for her for PMOY 2010.
