Gamers headset with mic? Need some help...

Post by CMSheats »

Hello all!

I just had a quick question here.. I have been thinking about getting a pair of headphones for my gaming. First off, I need to know what would be a good brand to go with.. (and a good place to buy them) and secondly, do they make sets that have mic's attached to the headphones so you can talk via (Whatever talking software you use..) while you are in game? Or would it just be cheaper to buy a mic that plugs into your computer and then get headphones?
Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

Chris

If you have a laptop, it most likely has a mic; so you most likely will only need headphones. However, there are ones with mics like you are looking for, such as:

I personally use Teamspeak3.

If you don't have your Location listed in your User Control Panel, why not take a second and update it? It will let your trading partners know where you are from the beginning.

Hey guys.. so I was looking around for headsets, and I found this one on Woot.
http://www.woot.com/offers/gears-of-war ... eo-headset
They also have several others like it. So, it says it is for Xbox 360, but it has a whole bunch of cables pictured. Would any of those hook up to a Windows 7 computer? (Not super tech savy... ) Any input would be greatly appreciated!

When I was playing WOW, I had the basic Microsoft headset. It was pretty good, and inexpensive compared to some of the stuff that's available now. Unless you need your headset to light up etc :)

That won't work on a normal computer.

Try this:

Alternatively, if you are on a budget and you have a bluetooth earpiece that you use for a cell phone; you can purchase a bluetooth transciever that plugs into a usb slot and use the earpiece.

The downside to using an bluetooth earpiece is the length of talk time it gives, but otherwise you have an average 10ft range and no cord.

Those sets look very good as well! Thanks TG24!
Shipping for the $40 set was $13! (That stinks...)
