I use the P.A.C.K. 720. It is pluck foam and the models stand upright.

How cheap/expensive do you want to go?

On the more expensive front, you have the magna-racks from Battle Foam.
On the cheaper side, you need some plastic Sterilite "drawer units" from Walmart, sheet metal, and tin snips.

Either way, you just magnetize your bases, and the models will stand upright.

For carrying from their houses to the house where we game, that's all my buddies use. You can hold a TON of models in those tray/drawer units.
