Cool Conversion or Not?

I saw this...
... and thought, "Why didn't I do that?"
I always hate Robot legs... and I could have replaced them with mechanical spider legs!!! Though 6 legs would be better.
They would never have bipedal, human-style legs... for (at least) no other reason than they really can't dig in and anchor with those... Any hit hard enough to cause knockback would be an issue... and just general movement is faster and more agile with more legs (also impact hit to the front with two front legs sunk into a hard surface and any type of shock absorption on the two back is not going to cause as much damage especially when it is using them actively to reduce the hit)... and probably no knockback. Also, losing one leg of six isn't as big a deal as one of two.
I think that is what it should look like (but 2 more legs) and maybe chassis covering the lower vulnerable parts where legs join to the body.
