So many Termies, so little ideas on what to do with them.

I'm making an Ultramarine Chapter- but I seem to have over bought termies( There is about twenty not shown as well lol. )

Anyone have any luck just fielding termies? My termies out number tactical marines 2-1.

Any idea/cool conversions will be heard and thought on.

That was my first thought, but it just seems kind of powergamerish to have an entire Ultramarine Chapter and then go:

Allllllies.... Mhmmm

Deathwing(s/Dark Angel) lol.

They aren't Dark Angels. They are a specialized first company strike team. ;)

So, my friend is getting into Imperial Guard. But the armies, are so so expensive compared to: Tau, Space marine and Eldar.

What's a good starting point for price? I know it all depends on what comes in it, ect ect.

116 Standard Lasgun Guardsmen
- 17 Sergeants of various weaponry
- 2 Medics
- 12 Voxcaster Guardsmen with lasguns
- 4 Guardsmen with Camo cloaks and Sniper rifles
- 4 Guardsmen with Melta Guns
- 6 Guardsmen with Grenade Launchers
- 8 Guardsmen with Flamers
- 3 Guardsmen with Plasma Guns
- 3 Commissars (one is a Lord Commissar)
- 1 Ibram Gaunt
- 1 Colonel Schaeffer
- 1 Last Chancer Sniper
- 4 Stormtrooper/Kasrkin Sergeants (one of them is an old school sergeant)
- 3 Stormtrooper/Kasrkin Flamers
- 4 Stormtrooper/Kasrkin Grenade Launchers
- 1 Stormtrooper/Kasrkin Melta Gun
- 20 Stormtrooper/Kasrkin with Hotshot/Hellgun Lasguns
- 9 Catachans/Veterans
- 3 Open Topped Autocannon Sentinels (no pilots)
- 2 Autocannon heavy weapons teams
- 3 Lascannon heavy weapons teams (one is missing an arm/assistant gunner which are in the bits bags)
- 2 Mortar heavy weapons teams
- 3 Missile Launcher heavy weapons teams
- 1 Standard Leman Russ Battle Tank (Lascannon on front is broken off and the hatch on top is missing. Might be spares in the bits but I am uncertain)
- 1 Master of Ordinance
- 1 Astropath
- 1 Officer of the Fleet
- 1 Commissar Yarrick

Guy is asking 500, 13 dollars shipping for this lot. Personally, it seems like a good lot. Just asking the professionals at bartertown.

Depends on condition of the models. The way I generally look at it is that I figure out retail first and then go from there.

Your first step should be to cull that list and calculate what the MSRP is. That's your starting point.
Then, calculate 80% of MSRP. You can find that online all day long (especially with BTown advertisers *AHEM*). You should use this for your "retail" calculations, IMO.
From there, you have to consider condition. Is it assembled? Painted? Primed? How WELL is it assembled/painted/primed. The more that's done to it, in general, and the less quality it was done with will reduce the value.
If it's all assembled and painted poorly, it's easily worth NO MORE THAN half of the Retail (not MSRP).

The help you'll get here will be of higher quality with the more work you put into it yourself. If you're hoping someone will come on, figure out your MSRP and retail prices, then analyze the possibilities, you'll be disappointed. Then again, if you give them all of the variables up front and only ask for an analysis, you'll get far better results.
Not saying that's what you're doing, BTW. Just putting it up as an FYI for anyone who might see this thread.

One tank & 200 Infantry? You need more tanks!

What kind of Imperial Guard is it? Plastic Cadians? Catachans? Something else?

Definitely get pictures first.

Yeah I wasn't asking anyone to figure out MSRP or give a serious perspective on it with price. I have no interest in Imperial Guard, but I do better leg work.

For the general price of it, what to look for when buying a bulk army lot and the like. Sorry if I came off that I was asking for you guys to do all the leg work - When my buddy gets more serious in his endeavors I'll make him come here and do it all himself.

And, all the people here have a far better scope of 'trade and 'bay' prices/schemes/lemons. So it was a what to watch for/look for.

And they are Plastic Cadians.

....................

The problem I am running into, not on here, but the other sites is Imperial Guard armies are suuuuuper expensive for seemingly old, poorly painted pieces.

MM and the other posters have given me info, which I thank you for! Plus, yeah more tanks. He is picking Imperial Guard cause of the armor, been trying to have him come to the dark side of SM:Iron hands but it isn't working.

If he's looking for armor, I would skip that lot then. That's a lot of stuff he doesn't need.

I agree. Tons of Infantry , but misses out on all the other options. (Heavy & Fast) You would need to drop another $200+ to make it a flexible army.
Definitely get pics, value depends on condition. If they are bare/assembled- it might be an OK deal. But no great bargain IMHO. But if they are badly painted, skip it.

That's the info I was looking for- Just didn't know how to word it.

Pretty much, the tactical advantage/spare parts.

He is looking for a complete, one time purchase with small purchases where I don't mind piecing everything together,

While it could be a good foundation of an IG army, its not a complete force IMHO. It could use some tanks/artillery, & flyers. Good luck to your friend with the Guard !
