Reading through Legion of the Damned, if I were to assemble of a squad of LotD; Could I run them in a game? I know their droppod rules ect.

Would they just function under the - Allie rule? Anyone shed some light on this. Or since they don't come from a chapter, per say, could I just run them under the Unit rules?

Due to language policies, I'm going to have to change the title of this thread to "Legion of the Darned!"

What? Yes. As a matter of fact, I AM kidding.

I've only looked at it once or twice... but weren't LotD included in the most recent SM codex? I thought i saw them there.

Yeah. Found it.
LotD are on pages 104 & 171 of the Space marine codex... and they don't get Drop Pods. they arrive via Deep Strike only.

Just saw that, thanks for pointing it out. Guess I need a refresher on the 40k rules, or I was tired when I wrote that and I put drop instead of deep strike. Thanks anyways!

Guys ever field anything anythign against LOTD or played LOTD?

New LotD are pretty nice. They saw a points drop and has kept them more in line with the rest of the units. Their abilities ahve been buffed too.

They do require to work with the rest of the army however. They are good but not great enough to be a stand alone unit

Played against them with my Daemons of Chaos (2 Greaters and 3 DPs), crushed them in claws and underfoot...was disappointed there was no tasty SM meat on the inside.
