I know a number of you have used the greatcoat troops as IG infantry, but I would like to use those sprues with IG lasguns. I simply don't like the weapons on the sprues. I haven't taken the dive yet and would like to know how they look? Has anyone bought the box set of "shock troops" and mixed in the GW bits and how do they look? Pics would be greatly appreciated...

Well I went ahead and took the plunge to see how this worked out and have to say I am pleased...


The weapons fit "fairly well" with a little shaving here or there. I would say, all and all, a good looking Steel Legion stand in without having 8 of the same squads in an army...

its hard to say from pics but do the arms scale up right or are they a little too big?

I found the scale to be spot on. The only problem I ran into was that the "flat side" for placing the arms was smaller so I had to get a little creative with the placement. As far as conversions go this has about a difficulty of 2 LOL. I also cut down the necks on the troopers themselves because they looked a little long to me. I wanted the heads to rest closer to the necks of the coats and am pleased with the results
