Units that are allowed to score( ie not vehicles or transports) taken as troops because of a HQ choice are scoring units.

I'm pretty sure bikes aren't vehicles.Unless its somewhere in a errata.
1 Bikes aren't in the vehicle section of the main rulebook.They are in the units section.
2 In the codices they have the unit type listed next to each entry.Vehicles say "Vehicle(tank)" or skimmer or whatever.Bikes say "bike"
So bikes that can be taken as troops should be able to take objectives.
Can't help you with dreads I'm afraid.Walkers are in the vehicle section and dreads say "vehicle(walker)" in the unit type.

Thanks Pete. I read through the rules last night and unless it is in another part of the book (GW just loves doing that) or reversed in the FAQs then it reads that as long as the unit is chosen as Troops it it scoring unless it is on the exception list of vehicles, etc. So I think I'd be OK with my list afterall.

Yeah - warbikes and nobs and stuff like that are troops. But deff dread mobs are not It does allow you to take a bunch of them, though, and open up your heavy slots in your primary force - not a complete loss. It would just rock if they could score.
