So can some one please explain why GW keeps shorting the amount of Mission DECKS for 40k??? My local store pre ordered 13 decks. He got 1. ONE!!!
WTF is going on? And its not the first time GW pulls this BS.
Can someone please make sense of this.
Im hopeing a GW staffer reads this and chimes in. I really wanna hear their reasoning for this. IM sure its some lame reasoning only they could create.
"well you can still play with the older decks" would be one of the answers. I'd like to see/hear more excuses; again.
Bad enough eBay already has a bunch of scalpers selling something not even released to the general public at marked up prices.
So come on GW , whats your excuse this time?
What is GW's end game now days???

Re: What is GW's end game now days???
So, I have my little wholesale account through them, I ordered 20 and got 20. I don't even buy that much from them (mainly only the big box sets), I wonder if your local store might have made the bigger order then saw what they were going for online? I mean I love my local guys but when they were going for 100+ the day of release you gotta do the right thing for the store. Sometimes that can be telling your locals that big ol bad gw shorted you and then quietly moving them online..
The whole concept of buying decks and books is just soo... OLD. Like everyone else in the space is providing the rules free of charge and gw is trying to sell 25 books every 3 years. and 30 sets of cards in that same time frame, all of which are obsolete by the time they arrive on the shelves.
Having said all of that though, I don't think they have an end game. They seem unable to sort out their logistics at all, you have some boxes that are going to sell hundreds of copies that you get 2 of, then you have bad boxes that sit on shelves forever and they can't seem to figure it out for the life of them. Great example is the wardog box, as of yesterday they were still available online, but if you ordered them for a shop you were shorted to 4, why? WHO KNOWS!
Right now they're a kid at a firehose except the hose spews money, all they have to do is keep their mouths open and drink, doesn't matter how much spills out on the ground.

If we're trading: Lower ships first, even if its me.
If I'm buying: If you have a REASONABLE (>20) rating with no negatives, I'm paying first.
If I'm selling: You're paying first.
I always check Ebay before making/accepting offers. You should to. Fair market value >>>> "I feel they are worth X"
Offers good for 24hrs.
Well, well, well. If it isn't the consequences of my own actions.

By making enough that they know they will sell out immediately they don't have to worry about storage as an expense, so that increases the profitability of the release. YEARS ago I remember hearing something along the line of GW makes 85% of the lifetime profit off a release in the first 2 months. Their whole business plan is driven to utilize that pattern by CONSTANT HOT NEW RELEASE GET NOW OR MIGHT NEVER GET!!!
When I started in the 90s almost everything was almost always available. Now even with the machines running 24/7 they're constantly out of stock.
