Dreadclaw CSM question
Don't have the books, so have no idea - but want to know...
Are Khorne Berserkers allowed a Dreadclaw as a transport choice in IA?
I know in the new CSM codex they got moved from a TR to an EL choice, did this affect that transportation option?

None of these things are VITAL, this is a HOBBY. A hobby we enjoy, but still, a HOBBY.
Lower rating ships or pays 1st, myself included. Used to be more flexible; but was burned in recent months by a few newbies. If 200+ feedback w/no negs and 10+ years member is not enough to be trusted, well, like I said - none of this is VITAL.

Re: Dreadclaw CSM question
It's part of the "SM are always better than CSM" line from GW.
CSM can't recall how to make or repair DP or DC, and can't create/charm/make a deamon into one.
Only SM can have DP spam. CSM can't even use one.

You're reading from the codex?3eland wrote:Says they can take a chaos rhino as a DT
If that's the case, a Dreadclaw wouldn't be listed there, since it's a FW model only.
@OP - Sorry. I don't have the books, so I don't know.

Lower rating? You ship first.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

I didn't think if that, I'll check tomorrow unless someone finds it before me.MagickalMemories wrote:You're reading from the codex?3eland wrote:Says they can take a chaos rhino as a DT

Re: Dreadclaw CSM question
Thank you, YoungWolf.
I have been busily assembling & painting up an "all-previously-owned-and-unwanted-model" Extinction Angels CSM force (every model in the army was the result of here or on TMP, nothing LGS or online-store bought.) One of my EL choices being Khorne Berserkers.
GW canon says Extinction Angels are Planetary Invasion specialists; so part of my plans were to convert a couple drop pods into CSM Dreadclaws, one being for the Khorne. The other units will have CSM Rhino's and a Landraider for DP.
I have one converted Dreadclaw almost done, and wanted to be SURE it was allowed under IA before "adorning" it with Khornish icons.

Re: Dreadclaw CSM question
Take it from the uninformed source that it is (a friend), he passed on a rumor last night to me that CSM Dreadclaws are soon to come out in plastic, with rules, and that the Khorne version - if it drifts to lands on an enemy unit, they take wounds instead of it or the unit moving aside.
Which would be a tad humorous, harkening back to olden days with rules like, "Ork transports can carry as many Orks as the player can pile on the model itself, but any that fall off in any movement phase die."

Re: Dreadclaw CSM question
with a lot of salt on this one.
the Dreadclaws have been put out of the FW catalogue for a while since the cast was not that good.
they mentioned in GD UK this year they were planning on getting a new one done, but the HH version will be first to be release. (pics are floating around)
on GW making a DC available in plastic, that won't happen before a wave of CSM models and priorities currently is getting every one up to date. the other caveat is that it would bring the CSM too close to the SM play style.
The last point is that the DC is really different from the Drop pod as it can move again during games and re-deploy units easily.
