Hey folks,
I am pondering doing a FW order and would like to get some free shipping. If a few folks are interested in going in on my order, please let me know. The rules would be simple.
1. You tell me what you want, pay for the items using the current conversion rates (I will have to call my credit card).
2. When the items arrive, I will pack them up and notify you of the exact shipping and any extra charges the might have come up (I would split these equally between all parties), I don't know what charges could come up, but I feel it is best to be honest with everyone up front. All shipping will have delivery confirmation included.
3. If you pay via paypal, the fees are your responsibility. You can mark payment as "gift" or send me a MO.
4. I would ask that folks who participate have an established rating on bartertown and will limit the number of people to the first 4-5. If for some reason I only get 1 or 2 people and not enough order material, I will inform everyone and cancel the process.
My rating is 736, certainly one of the highest on bartertown. Please do not get involved if you are leary of the situation, if no one responds, I'll wait a bit longer until FW comes out with enough stuff for me to order for free one way or another, I am simply giving people an opportunity to get some FW items with reasonable shipping rates ($5-6) rather than the huge ones associated with placing an order for less than 250 pounds.

You MAY want to consider holding off at least for a little while. The US dollar is worth crap right now. I think the exchange is over 1.65 USD to a single GBP at the moment.

I checked last night and I think it was around 1.59. I certainly wish I could do something about the exchange rate but let's be honest, (and I don't want to get into politics here) Wallstreet is encouraged that the dollar has slipped more as it boosts exports (as other countries can buy our goods cheaper) and they way things look, the dollar isn't going to get much stronger anytime soon. While I could wait a few weeks and pay a few dollars less, I do have some items I would like to work on now so it is worth it to me.

Check xe.com for the most current rates. It's 1.66 USD to 1 GBP right now. Your credit card will probably be slightly worse. (mine charges current exchange, but has a 1% conversion fee. ymmv)

The dollar is only going to get worse before it gets better. Until the Fed raises interest rates the dollar will continue to drop.

Not really..theirs lots of quality company's in the US in the hobby and others. Small business success is always key to ending things like recessions..a global economy helps speed things up.
