Venting a little . . .

Whats with people on this forum not replying back to offers, pm's and e-mails? I've had people say they have some things I need. I've contacted them indicating I'm interested and get NO replies. There was a guy here that posted a thread about how he had a BIG shelf of bitz and even posted pictures of the shelfs and to said to contact them with your bits needs. I e-mailed him with a specific list of items and haven't heard a thing back from him. Other times I've gotten PM's: "Sure, I have a few of those." Me: "Great! I'm interested!" Then nothing . . .

I think its really rude to not follow through. Its not like I'm contacting people on a whim. They contact me or post a message here themselves and then don't reply back. HOW ANNOYING!

This kind of behavior disappoints people and makes them leave BT. I think this forum has powerful potential if people just follow through.

Thanks for letting me get that out.

What's with people not posting these types of things in the misc forum?
Nothing personal, but sometimes I wish people would realize the "for sale/wanted" forums are for posting items "for sale/wanted"

I am sick of people ranting. Take out your anger elsewhere. We don't want to hear you bitching. I am tired of you people making negative comments about this hobby. And please at least put it in the correct section. Good riddance,

If you're gonna bitch and moan, at least do it in the right forum.

WOW!
RD got slammed!

Okay, In regards to Blue Table Painting (the guys with the bits). I got a response from them and I only emailed to ask a simple question.

Check your spam folder. They sent out a mass email to everyone who bought, inquired about buying, or just asked a question in a mass email.
They DID send it out, though.

Also... What did you ask for? Some idiots asked for long lists of specific "bits" that, when added together, made COMPLETE MODELS (like, each piece on a Dreadnought sprue, for example)! Yeah, folks. They're gonna have that.

As far as WHY you aren't getting responses... I don't know you, so this MAY NOT pertain to you...

Examine HOW you are responding to people. If they are telling you they have "X" amount and then say for you to make an offer, then you respond with, "Great. I want them. How much?" That is a problem.
I will tell you straight out. I do not always answer PM's & emails. If they fall into the category of what I mentioned above, I just delete them. If I ask for EMAIL ONLY and I get a PM... that person does NOT get a response.
If the person comes across as a juvenile who doesn't take the time to spell full words & use punctuation (errors are okay... intentional omitting is NOT), then I don't trust them do do a good job in the trade.

Just to be safe, re-examine how you respond, etc. There is a possibility that it might be you. I mean, if there is a pattern of people not responding, there may be a reason.
Maybe not, though... no flames!

As far as everyone who is complaining about the rant...
Don't read it!
I agree that this should have been put in the right place to begin with. That is an acceptable point.

However, the frigging post is TITLED that he is venting... yet, you opened it anyway. Maybe you just need to avoid topics that have certain words in them (Like, anything that resembles a rant?). Ever thought about that?
Don't OPEN a topic with "venting" in the title, then come down on the author for venting. Hello? That is what it is all about.

Besides, his post was easily within the BTown rules and expected etiquette (barring the whole "wrong section" thing).

Unfortunately I HAVE to read it so that I can make sure it doesn't have like porn in it or anything else that might offend someone here lol.

When it's in someone's username it is. I know I am being a right stick in the mud about this, but there are some things I find inappropriate for the image we want to convey with Btown.

Hell, that's why we have Adult Swim. So people can go vent some steam and stuff. :-)

While I am thinking about it, does anyone have any ideas for publicizing the Discussion Side more?

Well, really, I can think of two possible scenarios.
First off... Why even HAVE a discussion "side?"
Why not just add everything onto one "side." A quick check to the discussion side will show that many areas are used very little. A couple MIGHT be able to be removed with a switch over, even.

Another possibility is to remove everything that is NOT directly trade related. Assentially, everything EXCEPT the trade sections and the good/bad trader section. Anything discussion (like this area here) could be moved over. Then, anyone wanting to discuss would go tho the appropriate side.
Also, adding a NON TRADE chat room to that side could possibly work.
I know *I* wouldn't go in it, but I am sure that there are many who would.

Just a couple thoughts.

Eric

I like p0rn.
(Would that count as bad?)
