New Blood Angels
Hmmm, I guess we know which codex is up after Tyranids.

Incoming! Blood Angels
This April the Blood Angels will be re-launched with an all-new Codex and range of plastic and metal miniatures. One of the oldest and noblest of all Space Marine Chapters, the Blood Angels have stood fast against the enemies of the Imperium since the Great Crusade and it was their Primarch Sanguinius, who laid down his life to aid the Emperor against Horus in the final hours of the Warmaster’s rebellion. The new Codex explores the background and history of these superhuman warriors like never before, and contains new artwork depicting some of their greatest battles and most powerful champions.
The Blood Angels have always been a powerful close combat army and have been made even deadlier thanks to a range of specialist wargear, the ability to field Assault Squads as Troops choices, and more Dreadnoughts than any other Space Marine Chapter, including a Death Company Dreadnought and the fabled Furioso Dreadnought. The Sons of Sanguinius will be deep striking onto a tabletop near you this April – now’s the time to practice painting red.

True, they aren't Vanguard. But the Blood Angels are supposed to be masters of that form of fighting. They're supposed to be extremely adept at swooping in on their jump packs and launching lightning attacks.EZ mac wrote: I really really do not want to see all the jump pack guys to have rules to charge after deepstrike...that is doumb and they arnt vanguard.

Re: New Blood Angels
read the old fluff dude... they didnt make them the jump pack terrors that people really want them to be now since the one special mission they had in the 3rd ed book of theirs.locust wrote:True, they aren't Vanguard. old fluff was that they were perfectionists that lived for a lot longer than a regular marine. It wasn't uncommon for them to live for well over a thousand years (Dante is 1200?). In all honosty the old fluff had them be more like Nazi's vampires then anything else as they always wanted to make a 'perfect blond race'.
and trust me i had/ have BA since early 3rd ed and have the book from 2nd and have read any fluff BA so its not like i'm a random guy that just doesn't like BA
I am totally going to pull out my 4 jump pack units baal preds and furioso dred along with the rest of the company i have for BA's.
I really really really just hope they dont become the really stupid overpowered broken army that i know they will become once power creap happens when the book is released

I hear ya there. But I don't think that will happen though. Look what was going on with the Wolf Dex. Everyone thought that it was going to be super broken, and it turned out to be a fairly balanced book. It was nowhere near as messed up as folks thought it was going to be.

Metephiston is totally going to be (somehow) stronger than he already is... 3+ invul save? i think that's about it besides new psychic powers
Dante is really good as he is i mean he has a melta that hits on a 2, gives perfered enemy and doesnt he lower WS and BS to units within 6in?

Re: New Blood Angels
Seems the rumors are they will have Assault squads as troops, with 2 Special Weapon options. Probably Furious Charge on the assault troopers. Not Heroic intervention that would be completely broken.
What you know for sure is they are going to be fast. Probably a huge lake of ranged in anyway.
Personally I think that the SW dex although better at HtH is a FAR weaker codex than the Standard SM Codex.

Um, isn't that the point? The specialist SMs give up something in exchange for being better at whatever it is that they specialize at.Norseman wrote:Personally I think that the SW dex although better at HtH is a FAR weaker codex than the Standard SM Codex.

That is the point!!!
On another point...
I just do not know why we need ANOTHER Uber HTH SM Army. They better make it good, and REALLY different.
I have been pretty happy with everything released in the last little bit and QUITE happy with the balance, so I am hoping this will not be disappointing jump pack Space wolves' emo brothers.

Re: New Blood Angels
Of *course* SW are weaker overall. But then, basic SM completely suck at HtH, so that's to be expected.
I expect BA to be JP-heavy, likely with some variant of the Vanguard rule, because it'd make them usefully different in how they look and play. That'd really be just fine for me.
And besides, it's not like BA (or SW) are going to be redone anytime soon...

Re: New Blood Angels
DA probably will not be done until the big Xeno marathon in the next two years. DA are good Codex anyways. Where else do you get Termi AND bikes as troops.
If they got a small errata of Storm Shields being 3+ Inv. and a few other of the goofy discrepancies. I think everyone would be QUITE happy with the codex overall.

DAs have their strengths and a few glaring weaknesses. I just want the model line revamped.
