I'm not talking about enforceable agreements but it would be nice if they said "Gee this guy doesn't want anything he has to sign for so maybe I won't send it that way" or "I better tell him I'm in Bangladesh right off the bat'. I read peoples sig lines because they will often have something in there that I don't want to deal with so I can pass on it before I even PM them.
just one more reason to make location mandatory IMHO.

Re: Location mandatory?
@Norseman: In my experience, the problem rate is between 1% and 3%. With International trades, it's awfully expensive to get tracking.
As for sigs, if it's a T&C, I'd copy it into any "final" agreement for records purposes, which makes it a legally enforcible part of the contract we agree to.

Re: Location mandatory?
Unless the plan is to change location into a drop down bar with every state/country listed on it making it mandatory wont' help. Some people will still put "the moon" or "your mom's house" or whatever as their location

Norseman wrote:Don't get me wrong... I am TOTALLY for making it mandatory. However I am sick to death with people just messaging me back..."No thanks" to many of my offers. Later to find out it was because I live in Canada. They didn't think to elaborate. "I don't want to trade with you because you are not in the US."
Yeah I know it costs about $5 extra on shipping and takes a week longer for shipping, but if the Canadian trade partner makes it worth your while, why would it be a problem.
i used to ship to canada and, to a lesser extent, most countries in europe. prior to may 2009, it was about 20% more to ship to canada (or basically the same price to ship there with the cheapest method compared with priority within the US). and about 50% more to europe. this year the post office decided to make ALL international shipping priority mail and charge accordingly. i had an awkward experience where i sold a bunch of d&d books to a canadian on ebay and quoted a shipping price that i got earlier in the year. when i actually went to ship it, the post office wanted $45 to ship the core books (the 3.5 d&d PHB, MM, and DMG) to canada instead of the $15 that i had quoted earlier to me! i offered the guy a full refund since the shipping was more than the price of the auction. so, if they're shipping only a few minis the difference might be $5. if it's more than that, expect to pay a bigger difference thanks to USPS policies. this hassle is in addition to not having the ease of the usual delivery confirmation. frankly, it's not worth the hassle now IMHO.
