Movie Space Marines Project
A while ago (issue 300) White Dwarf printed up a joke army list to represent Space Marines according to the fluff that makes them all powerful (as if they were heroes in an action movie). It was chapter unapproved from start to finish, and made a ten man tactical squad into a 1500 point army.
So, a little while ago, I decided to make a 2000 point movie marine army, and I decided to spend as much time converting and painting these guys as I would a normal 2000 point army- that way I could make them way over the top. By the way, I used Ultramarines because they are sort of a blank slate. Especially if you consider older fluff pictures, the Ultramarines could have a little of everything adorning their armor and still look "Ultra."
So far, I've finished two of the marines.
And here's the sergeant. I did not get a picture of his green:
This second marine is called the "Dude." It is the official army list choice.
The list also allows for "Stunt Doubles" essentially counters that allow you to auto pass an armor save (the stunt double takes the hit, I guess?). So, I decided to paint up some classic marines to fill that role.
I'll be posting more as I paint them up.

LOL
Brilliant.
I can't wait to see that Rhino painted up. Does it get a stunt double, too? lol

Lower rating? You ship first.
Give me a sense of humor Lord. Give me the grace to see a joke.
To get some humor out of life and pass it on to other folk.
I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Hey MM, no it doesn't, but the TL Lascannon hits EVERYTHING in a straight line, kills it outright, and gets -1 Strength for each Monstrous Creature and Vehicle it goes through. Fun times!
And lookin' good! I've always toyed with the idea of doing some Movie Marines.

Re: Movie Space Marines Project
Here's the next one that's finished.
Also, we are very pleased to announce that Movie Marine conversions now available from Garden Ninja Studios!
Movie Marine conversions can be used with the chapter unapproved Movie Space Marine rules by Games Workshop. Movie Marines are also ideal as force commanders for your approved Space Marine army.
Find out more about them here.

I did three perspectives on him because it was difficult to see some of the details on his base without a top down view.

I must add one to the ranks of the stunt doubles. Behold, a classic of the plastic one-piece space marines:
Yep, he's from Space Hulk.

Ok, it has been a little while since I finished one of these guys, but they haven't been forgotten. Here is the newest addition:

Re: Movie Space Marines Project
Well, I have one more Movie Marine finished. This one looks just a little more elaborate than some of the others, but I think he adds to the group rather well.
