Ivan The Raider = Steve Jones *Confirmed*

Good morning everyone, it's your friendly neighborhood damn hippie elf.

It has come to my attention that there is a new trader on Bartertown who could be an old, confirmed, BAD trader - one Steve Jones of Canada. His new screen name is Ivan the Raider, and he's got a bunch of ads up.

Lin's Edit: Confirmation appears below, Ivan the Raider is Steve Jones, is Warmungerer/Warmongere/wood_elf and whatever other names he's posted under. Therefore, as a confirmed bad trader he's getting blasted off Bartertown AGAIN. And...since he's managed to hit me on a bad day...this message is getting posted in the 40K and Fantasy sections as well.

Now...for the moment, I am going to leave the ads standing. Should I find out in the course of investigating that this is the same Steve Jones who is AKA Warmungerer, though, I will blast him off Bartertown.

Any and all information is appreciated. Please PM me until further notice.

20 swordsmen (most of them are painted)
10 halberdiers (painted)
30 spearmen (about 1/3 are painted)

1 mortor (pro painted)
1 cannon (pro painted)
2 helblasters (1 pro painted, 1 not painted)

this army is painted in a red and white, and is an army that rely's on its infantry, flanking, and numbers, with quite a bit of artillery to guard your has won its far share of are available

High Elves

5th edition high elf army book
6th edition high elf army book
1 mage on griffon (not painted)
2 mages on foot (not painted)
Teclis on foot (not painted)
2 lords on foot (not painted)
1 mounted lord (not painted)
60 spearmen (1/3 painted)
20 archers (not painted)
10 silver helms (painted)
5 reavers (primed black)
1 chariot (pro painted)
1 bolt thrower (not painted)

as you can see this is a basic high elf infantry army, relying on its spearmen, it is also mainlt not painted, but the ones that are, are painted in a blue white mix, and the chariot is painted in a white and yellow and looks very are available

I also have a lot of lord of the rings, if you are interested in lord of the rings, reply asking for the specifics, i have a lot, and would rather not list everyone unless someone is interested.

i am looking to start a new army, so i am mainly interested in trading entire armies for entire armies, but will settle for medium size trades that will at least be close to an army, i must have the army book for any of the following armies i want:

well i think thats say enough add it up this is steve jones aka warmongerer he is back and trying to ripe people off again

Just as I was getting ready to send 7x WH40K IG Storm Troopers I saw that Steve Jones' / Ivan_The_Raider's account was suspended. I go to check things out and I found this thread. Wow...

I've never dealt with this person before, so I don't know how bad he is. I thought something was unusual when he said he had gotten Epic IG tanks instead of WH40K IG tanks as part of a trade, yet had a zero rating.

Well, he and I have negotiated a trade. He PM'd me to say that he sent his part on Saturday. Considering the low value of the trade I was going to ship simultaneously. I am going to retro-actively change the deal (rightfully so I think under the circumstances) such that I will ship after I have received his stuff. If he fulfills his part of the deal I will post a good reference and send my half of the bargain. After all, a deal is a deal.

I'll try to remember to post a follow-up in about a week or 2 and let folks know if he came through or not.

He's now posting the same ad on Warhammer-Empire online as well.

I tried to follow the link, but it wouldn't let me in, as it required a name & password to get in (I am not a member).
I did look around the forum, though, and I saw ONE thread that mentioned that trading was banned there. How old is Steve's thread on that board?
You should alert the Mods there and send them a link to this thread.

Has anyone filed a report to the authorities about him. I would do it but I am based in the UK, but I am willing to send evidence to anyone state side.

canada is strange you can report him all you like but nothing will be done he is a minor now you can take him to court

but if you put on the customs form gift you wont win in court and you will only be reinbursed the amount on the customs form if you win the case

I have posted on Warhammer-Empire showing links to our files on Steve Jones. They are aware of him and are taking appropriate measures.

The post you probably read was from the old Market Place which was closed quite some time ago after several complaints arising from someone who was ripping ppl off. That person was Steve Jones. Imagine their shock when they saw he had snuck into the new Trading Post as Ivan.

The mods just reopened the Trading Post but they may close it again, I guess we'll see how it works out.

I just soooo love guys like this.

SO why not send him some parcels valued at high numbers and have him pay importing tax?

all he has to do is refuse them and we have to pay them to get it back

Retribution ?

Hey Lin, Hows this work since I backed off the Deal? Am I looking at getting Pinned by this Guy as a Baddie now or should I just Pretend that our deal was Null and Void since he's been banned ? I'm Just Looking at if he were to come back on under a different name and try and get retribution for not closing on our deal. Any Input is appreciated.

Simple. You decided not to follow through, which is your right. Even if he were a good trader, it is still your right to cancel the deal. Since you discovered he was/is a scammer, you're pretty much immune to bad trader reports or negative feedback.

Now, for example, if he'd sent his part and you decided to return it for whatever reason...that's not BTR worthy by itself but would qualify for negative feedback in my opinion.

Also, if he were to reappear and randomly leave you a negative feedback or a BTR we would investigate and take the appropriate course of action.

Does that answer your question? :-)

Has anyone contacted the mods at 40konline? Seems he has a trade in the work over there and it would be a shame to see another person ripped off.
