We've got the PHP and Apache caches turned way up beyond the defaults / suggested. If there's a caching issue, it shouldn't be due to the amount of space available, it's an implementation issue.

I can set the default value for search result count (by hacking the html template), but that's a band-aid, really.

what about any hardware tests that you can do....to rule out a memory issue.

Not sure how legit a report this is, but...

user Sultanjt was reporting to me that he was getting an 'unauthorized' response when trying to look at my sub-forum

I'll also say that I tried to do it with incognito and I could see it, so it was especially weird.

I've had our webhost run those, nothing came back in error.

We've gotten this report a few times, and I've yet to find anything that points to the cause. What's worked in the past is for the user to log out then back in, or clear their browser's cache.

Yep. Keep me in the loop - I'm trying to track this data for discussion with phpBB later on.

I have nothing to add here.
I just want to do this so Plarz gets an email notification.

From sultanjt:

"I attempted both of those fixes and neither of them worked
I am still unable to access your subforum"

Plarz,

If it helps, I emulated him in the Admin Control Panel to compare access.
What I see on the main screen when using MY permission set is on the left.
What I see when emulating his permission set is on the right.

It's NOT there.
