Anyone have experience stripping privateer press plastic?

Post by carmachu »

I have some newer PP plastic models that look badly painted. Was wondering if anyone has had to strip them and what they used. I assume pruple power is still ok, just like GW plastics(although I have no experience with GW finecast).

Thanks.

I have had to strip PP plastic models before and I use Power Green (I think that's what it's called), the Canadian version of Purple power I assume so yes it works well just like GW models. I find PP plastic is actually harder in material than GW stuff. But, to be super safe and confident, paint up something you don't care about (extra arm or something) and test it out! That way you know from first hand experience.

I use LA's Totally Awesome to strip my minis and it works good on the PP plastic.

I've used Purple Power on finecast and had no problem with it. I even used it to break down the super glue. I soaked the pieces for 2 weeks.

Privateers material isn't plastic, or the same type plastic that GW and most model companies use.

Thanks. I either have regular plastic(GW) or metal. I generally haven't bought PP plastics and no finecast.
