OK B'towners , I want to get ideas of your OP/ cheesiest Warhammer 40k army you can think of.
1-Formations are legal,
2- Must have 2 maxed out troops selections.( 6 marines in razor back counts)
3- consider using objective cards.
4- must be 1500 points.
5-must be one of the following armies
Guard, chaos marines, any marines, elder , deamons, khorne, orcs. or scions.
thanks guys and gals.

I can't build a cheesy 1500 point list with my army. If you don't understand why, look at my avatar.nightlord wrote:OK B'towners , I want to get ideas of your OP/ cheesiest Warhammer 40k army you can think of.

Would Sisters count under Marines?
Is this an all comers cheese list? Or a dedicated cheese list?
I find its easier to right cheese if I know the opponent.

Im surprised... I'm surprised no one jumped all over this just to show off their knowledge of the 40k game. WOW. The chance to show off your Lvl of cheesiness and no one took it. Shame on ya'll.

Guess we are naturally non-cheesy. I mean sure if a game presents itself (like if my group decides on it) we will play cheese but I think the majority of people are about the game and community.
Warseer is where you need to go for the cheese lists.

Re: So whats your cheesist army you can build useing 1500pts
Actually from the things ive read on these sites in the past, Most peoples Normal way of playing is CHEESE. ONe of the reasons GW quit supporting Rogue Trader tournies. Cause too many people complained of the Lvl of constriction. And seeing the way these formations in the newest codexs and such shows me the direction the game is going in. Cheese = Normal.
So maybe I should have asked for people to give me their BEST example of "Their Army List".

Re: So whats your cheesist army you can build useing 1500pts
I know these guys, but it's not me. Blood Angels in 7th Edition are the underdogs, ranked down there with the Adepta Sororitas. But I did say I know these guys... I swear we've discussed this in another thread (yeah... it was this one, nightlord, and you were there, too!), and it wasn't my army, and it was 1850 rather than 1500 points, but I faced these Eldar:nightlord wrote:Most peoples Normal way of playing is CHEESE.
Farseer on Jetbike
Warlock on Jetbike
2 x Wraithknights with twin heavy D-cannons
4 x Squads of Jetbikes as Troops, all with the heavy weapon upgrades
Squad of Fire Dragons mounted in a Wave Serpent
Squad of Swooping Hawks
Crimson Hunter
I'm sure this could be modified to fit in 1500 points and still have the two Wraithknights stomp the hell out of whatever they face.

Re: So whats your cheesist army you can build useing 1500pts
Are your limitations because you want to try the armies out, and that's what you have access to?
I'm wondering why the army limitation. That might be part of the limitation. In staying within your limits, it's hard to build cheese. I mean, a cheese build is usually meant to just annihilate the opponent. Typically, that's not going to work well with objective cards. Same thing with using 2 max troop choices. P's Eldar army above (while I have no codex handy) would -I'd wager-be hard pressed to field a cheese army if you're maxing out bikers (other than the inherent cheese of 2 maxed units of jetbikes, all with the heavy weapon upgrades).
chaos marines
marines
elder
orcs
From my experience, these seem to be difficult to cheese within the strictures you've set forth.

Re: So whats your cheesist army you can build useing 1500pts
C'mon, Eric, nightlord is inviting us to think like "Win At All Cost" jerks here.
Combined Arms Detachment #1:
Farseer Windrider (on Jetbike) with The Spirit Stone of Anath’lan [HQ]
Guardian Defenders (20 models) [Troops]
Rangers (10 models) [Troops]
Crimson Hunter with Exarch [Fast Attack]
Wraithknight with two Heavy D-Cannons [Lord of War]
Combined Arms Detachment #2:
Warlock Conclave (1 model, on Jetbike) [HQ]
Windriders (5 models) with scatterlasers [Troops]
Windriders (5 models) with shuriken cannons [Troops]
Wraithknight with two Heavy D-Cannons [Lord of War]
That's a Battle-Forged Eldar army of exactly 1500 points containing two full-strength Troops choices... plus a level 3 psyker (and his level 1 helper!), a deadly flyer with a BS of 5, two Gargantuan Creatures with two Strength D shootas each, and two squads of "Objective Secured" (because they are Troops in a Combined Arms Detachment) jetbikes with heavy weapons.

Which I might counter with this Ultramarines Army:psiekier wrote:That's a Battle-Forged Eldar army of exactly 1500 points containing two full-strength Troops choices... plus a level 3 psyker (and his level 1 helper!), a deadly flyer with a BS of 5, two Gargantuan Creatures with two Strength D shootas each, and two squads of "Objective Secured" (because they are Troops in a Combined Arms Detachment) jetbikes with heavy weapons.
Combined Arms Detachment:
Techmarine [HQ]
Tactical Squad (10 models) with lascannon [Troops]
Tactical Squad (10 models) with multimelta [Troops]
Skyhammer Annihilation Force:
Devastator Squad (10 models) with 4 grav-cannons and Armorium Cherub in a Drop Pod [Heavy Support]
Devastator Squad (5 models) with 4 grav-cannons and Armorium Cherub in a Drop Pod [Heavy Support]
Assault Squad (10 models) with veteran sergeant, power sword, meltabombs, 2 flamers, 2 eviscerators, and jump packs [Fast Attack]
Assault Squad (10 models) with veteran sergeant, power fist, 2 plasma pistols, 2 eviscerators, and jump packs [Fast Attack]
Obviously, the Skyhammer Annihilation Force would be doing most of the work. During the turn they arrive, declare the "Devastators Doctrine" to be in effect, and split the 10-man dev squad into combat squads so they can split their fire onto multiple targets. Heck, you might even split the assault squads, depending on how many pencil-thin Panzee necks you feel like snapping in one turn.

... and for grins, although I would not expect them to last three rounds against the Eldar army I posted above:
Combined Arms Detachment:
Knight Commander Pask in Leman Russ Punisher with lascannon, accompanied by a Leman Russ Executioner with lascannon [HQ]
Veteran Squad with carapace armour, krak grenades, and 3 plasma guns riding in a Chimera with a heavy stubber (10 models) [Troops]
Veteran Squad with krak grenades and 3 meltaguns riding in a Chimera with a heavy stubber (10 models) [Troops]
Manticore [Heavy Support]
Baneblade with lascannon/heavy bolter side sponsons [Lord of War]

Re: So whats your cheesist army you can build useing 1500pts
So, part of this is that we Blood Angels are the underdogs, part of it has to do with what I have painted up for play, and the rest of of it is my not wanting to play like ... that guy. However, nightlord's requirement that every army take two full-strength troops choices gives the Blood Angels a very unusual advantage in the form of two unique units who appear in Shield of Baal: Deathstorm. I'm not sure if I can make good use of them, though:psiekier wrote:I can't build a cheesy 1500 point list with my army. Raphen's Death Company (5 models) with jump packs, thunder hammer, power fist, power sword, and inferno pistol [Troops]
Cassor the Damned with blood talons and magna-grapple [Troops]
Assault Squad (10 models) with jump packs, veteran sergeant, 3 plasma pistols, and meltabombs [Fast Attack]
Bike Squadron (9 models) with combi-grav, 2 grav guns, and attack bike with multimelta [Fast Attack]
Bike Squadron (9 models) with combi-melta, 2 meltaguns, and attack bike with multimelta [Fast Attack]
Devastator Squad (5 models) with 2 lascannons and 2 missile launchers with flakk missiles [Heavy Support]
Aegis Defense Line with quad cannon [Fortifications]
See? Still not that threatening. The problem is that as good as Blood Angels can do something, Codex chapters can do the same thing more effectively, for less points, or both!

Re: So whats your cheesist army you can build useing 1500pts
If you want to get technical, Blood Angels and Flesh Tearers use the same roolz. In fact, Flesh Tearers formations declare that "all [Flesh Tearers] units (except fortifications) must have the Blood Angels Faction." However, the Flesh Tearers Strike Force Formation has an interesting option available when combined with a special rule for Blood Angels assault squads. Should a squad forgo its customary issue of jump packs - the equivalent of 15 points of wargear - they may take a Rhino or Drop Pod for free...psiekier wrote:as good as Blood Angels can do something, Codex chapters can do the same thing more effectively, for less points, or both!
