2 Different casts of 40K Metal Cypher?

Post by ryno »

Hi, came across a used cypher figure where there were triangular bump and notch for the arms to fit in. I noticed the legion of the damned metal minis had these too. Then I came across a packaged Citadel cypher where the notch and tab are missing. My question is were both versions GW or one a fake? My best guess is they are both GW and the packaged version an improvement over the other. Am I correct? Thanks

This is not a Bartertown related question. Moving to the appropriate forum.

I think what this situation needs is some imagination.

Esp. when it's metal molds (where it's cheaper to replace and they eventually break down anyways), companies sometimes improve molds. A common one is when there's a large piece that it turns out tends not to cast properly so they break it into two smaller pieces. I'd expect it's something like that.

I expect honesty about models' conditions, thank you.

If I don't respond in a day or two, please check back, I've forgotten-sorry.
