A buddy of mine picked up the codex.
As he read through it (out loud), I just kept cussing.

Sixth edition will be defined by:
"Don't worry. I'm only playing Tau..."
with the unspoken addendum of "...in a shooting focused edition of the game and, though they can't fight well, I have a TON of ways to keep you from ever getting into HtH with me..."

started to read it as well, the number of possibilities of avoiding HtH are hysterical. The overwatch thing is just cherry on the top. add the anti flyer arsenal, my guess is that certain players fan of another website are going to digest hardly theit last purchase of 6 necrons flyers....;)

i read 2 pages, and saw an army of hammerheads, devilfishes, pirhanas and riptides with a huge banner sayin:" sorry but 80% of your army can't hurt me"

i'll go back to reading

Can anyone give a summary of all the new rules for the Tau? I haven't gotten the codex yet and won't be able to for about 3 weeks

There's an FAQ out already? If so that's fine, no matter how well rules are written people always have questions. Its the ERRATAS that are really annoying to have two days after the codex's release

Do they have an errata for the Tau errata correcting that?
If I forget to post a reference for you, please let me know!
If you are not going to post a reference for me, please explain why, maybe I can fix it!

Yeah.
This codex fixes every weakness of the Tau and adds no new ones.
...and most unit costs changed little, with them getting cheaper more often than anything else.
