Identifying mystery "Bike" bits
Hey all.
I recently acquired a few "mystery" bits. They're sets of metal stowage that look to fit on the rear and front of bikes. They're packaged in two sets, in a blister, with 3rd Edition arm and weapon sprues.
One bit in each set is what looks like a rack of scroll tubes, with a trio of bolter magazines in pouches on the left side of the tubes. The other bit is a large, square box thing with a skull on the lid, and a scroll tube on either side. Two of each in the blister.
I'll throw up a pic this evening (forgot to pull it off the SD card before work, oops!), but does anyone have a clue where these might be from, kitwise? I checked my copy of the Space Marine Collector's Guide, but they don't appear in there. I'm very familiar with the metal bits for the Chaplain on Bike, old Scout Biekrs, and the old Attack Bike, and these don't come from any of those.
I'm stumped!

Re: Identifying mystery "Bike" bits
That's a good question. I have those bits myself, somewhere.
What can we rule out?
The Scout Biker box.
The Chaplain on Bike box.
The Attack Bike box.
Maybes:
Bike Squad Box. Not standard, but possibly as a limited release?
Ravenwing Bike Squad. Probably not, since there was a special box used to mount the Rawenwing...wing.
Imperial Fists Supremacy Force. Probably not. I had this, and I don't remember them being in there.
Clues:
Those are 2nd Edition Weapons and Arm Sprues, which puts this blister no later than 3rd ed.
Based on that, my guess would be the old, Limited Edition Ravenwing Box Set, sort of a battleforce equivalent before there were battleforces.
I'll have to take a look at my old WDs to see if I can find a pic.

Re: Identifying mystery "Bike" bits
I have them as well and I do have that old ravenwing box set. I have a whole ton of them but only bought one box set. I could have gotten some via bike trades as well though.

the bottom metal bit looks like it goes below the fron handle bars; where the forks are. instead of the forks.
Heh, I was called a Grognard.

Those are from the OLD Ravenwing bike set. That blister hasn't been produced in like 10-12 years I think.

Re: Identifying mystery "Bike" bits
There was a Ravenwing kit before the most recent metal one? The most recent one, that was replaced by the current plastics, had the metal torsos, a set of legs, shoulder pads, stowage boxes, and the feathery standards. Any chance you have a pic or something of the precursor to that box?HarlequinZero wrote:Those are from the OLD Ravenwing bike set. That blister hasn't been produced in like 10-12 years I think.

Re: Identifying mystery "Bike" bits
I just remember selling them when I used to work at a GW in the late 90's. It's even possible it's the same box you are referring to, but GW took out the least essential parts to save a few cents. They did that way back when with the original D.Eldar jetbike box. That used to have metal chains in it that got cut out even though the same box continued to be sold.

Ah, ok.
Thanks for the info. So, what I essentially have is an ancient, limited-run set of bike stowage bits I'll likely never see again.
