Hordes and hordes of monkeys...

Post by Norseman »

Well I am definitely running a few squads of monkeys (Jokereo Weaponsmiths)

However I don't think I want to buy 24 of the same model... I am looking for ideas for conversions.

I am thinking of kit-bashing some ab-humans... maybe a beastman box and some greenstuff. I want them to be sufficiently mechanical as well. And they NEED to have HUGE guns, maybe and arm or part of their body.

These guys are definitely one of the key parts to a successful GK army. Rending lascannons...oh yeah!

3 Jokaero, 9 servitors w/multi-meltas, and inquisitor. 36" range multi-meltas and 3+ save at 10pts a pop is crazy. 3 Jokaero give you pretty damn good odds at getting that combo too.

LOL not to mention the 3 Lascannons from the 3 Jokeros.

Now all we need is a Long Fang Sargent and we are all set.

Probably not your style, but Mongoose has a bunch of gorillas / monkeys with guns and stuff.

What about those AT-43 Space Monkeys? They should be available cheap-ish.

Note, I do NOT endorse the monkey and gun servitor plan as it is nine kinds of beardy and if my opponent showed up with that I'd smack him.

Except you need a techmarine with them, or the servitors suffer from mindlock; which means they will only shot half the time.

Actually, you don't need a techmarine. In GK techmarines do NOT prevent mindlock. Only Inquisitors do. Hence why in my original post I said the unit needed to include the Inquisitor in its ranks.

We are talking Ard Boyz prep here... It's gotta be beardy or it aint gunna do...

I was talking with the owner of of our FLGS yesterday and he has made it a joking store rule that if you play Weaponsmiths in Chimeras you must play a game of "Poo"http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/6057 ... -card-game with your opponent.

Just imagine the mess in the back of those chimeras...

Ah! Is there a limit on how many inquisitors you can take? and how much would such a unit cost points-wise?

2 Inquisitors only... They are HQ selections and do not have a multi buy per slot.

However you can take 3Warriors with meltas and make them 24" with the monkeys. They are not effected by mindlock.

I do not hav ethe codex in front of me for points.

From memory i think the servitors are like 15 points and the monkeys are like 30 or so.
